You know that when a bunch of your favorite bartenders get together for a good cause, the results are going to be something special. And the proof is in the pudding with the clever title, “Rye’s Up Against Cystic Fibrosis.” Only those who so generously pour our libations for us would think to use the power of positive drinking to help raise money for something they believe in. At the Baltimore Bartenders Guild event, attendees will enjoy samples of Bulleit & Dickel Rye elixirs handcrafted by members of the Guild, and small bites from ten different local restaurants. There will be live jazz and blues music as well as a fabulous silent auction. And one bartender and restaurant will be awarded a “People’s Choice” award, which will be based solely on the votes of attendees (i.e. you and yours).
Founded in 2011, the Baltimore Bartenders’ Guild is a collection of local Baltimore like-minded bar professionals with one goal: “to raise the bar.” Ha. But really, that is exactly what they’re doing. As a guild, they’re dedicated to bringing a new level of classic and contemporary cocktails to our town, while providing us with the best quality of service. It certainly doesn’t hurt that they’ve also taken up using their skills for meaningful events like this one. And so for that, as well as their ability to pour a mean highball, we are grateful.
