If Hampdenfest leaves you wanting more neighborhood street celebration, you’re in luck. The next day, the Abell Community Street Fair unfurls at another prime North Baltimore neighborhood.
Held during the afternoon on Sunday, Sept. 18, in the 3000 block of Abell Ave., the event kicks off with a children’s parade at 11:30 a.m. The theme is “A Day at the Museum,” and all marchers are encouraged to gather in the Abell Open Space. The day is filled with kids’ activities after that.
Throughout the afternoon, live music will be emanating from a pair of stages. Other Colors, J Pope and “sparkle sludge” band purrer are on the main stage.
The food and drinks are also local. Peabody Heights Brewery is providing the beer, and The Wine Source is making the trek from Hampden to provide the wine. Farm to Charm, One Day Cafe and other vendors will be on the food. For a little sweetener, the neighborhood is holding its own special bake sale.
