As September gets started, it’s almost time to head for the orchards to horde some fresh apples. Here in the city, one farmer’s market is offering a quick tutorial this week.
On Thursday, the Pigtown Community Farmer’s Market will have a special event at the nearby Carroll Park Orchard. The Baltimore Orchard project is set to demonstrate apple harvesting. Then, back at the market, pickers can learn how to use a press to make apple cider, as well. All that’s missing is the hayride, which may or may not be onsite, too.
Aside from apples, the Farmer’s Market also has music from Todd Marcus and a wide variety of vendors. The free event runs from 3-7 p.m. in Carroll Park.
