Matt Walsh calls himself  a “professional sayer of truths,” but that doesn’t quite capture the particular brand of eloquent but oversimplified conservative Christian opinion pieces that the Baltimore-area blogger and Blaze contributor has become famous for.

Pieces like  “Christians Should Be More Judgmental,” “Calling Bruce Jenner a Woman Is an Insult to Women” and “Baltimore ‘Protesters,’ You Are Not Fighting Injustice. You Are The Injustice.” (in which he asserted that “[t]here were no peaceful protesters in Baltimore” on April 27) have made Walsh into, in the words of Gawker, “the hipster manifestation of Rush Limbaugh,” with the audience to prove it.

When The Blaze hired him as a regular contributor last fall, the site claimed Walsh’s blog was getting more that 2 million unique page views each month. His Facebook page currently has more than 300,000 followers.

If you’ve been noticing a lot of conservative opinion pieces with a distinct “Come at me, Bro” vibe, then you may already have read his work. It’s particularly likely you’ve seen the Jenner article. The day after it was published on The Blaze, Walsh dubbed it possibly “the most viral thing [he’s] written.”
