It’s happening. It’s really happening. University of Maryland sporting events at Byrd Stadium and the Xfinity Center will now be accompanied by legal beer starting with football and basketball games in the fall.
The Prince George’s County liquor board gave final approval to the measure Wednesday night, adding Maryland’s name to the growing list of schools hawking alcohol at sports games.
I know a lot of people will be celebrating this. My only fear is that while this may make Maryland students even livelier at Terps games, what if they can no longer pull off well-orchestrated flash mobs.
