If you frequent the Waverly or JFX farmer’s markets, you’ve likely seen the guys from Blacksauce Kitchen serving up some of the most enticing biscuitry (can we get a copyright on that word, please?) you’re likely to come across. This weekend, (just like their biscuits) Blacksauce will be popping up—on Sunday afternoon at Trohv in Hampden. The event is a trifecta of sorts—gift-shopping, biscuit-nibbling, and coffee-sipping. Since you’ll surely be out and about this weekend finishing up the shopping, and since the Avenue is always a good bet for unique finds, be sure to stop by Trohv between noon and three on Sunday to get in on this special event.
Trohv is well-known both in town and in D.C. for super-fabulous gift and home goods—many of which come from local artists and companies. Blacksauce crafts biscuits and biscuit sandwiches that are a perfect combo of traditional with some new foodie flair. They source much of their ingredients locally (including flour made in Ellicott City) and change their recipes with the seasons. Hampden neighbor, high-end coffee joint Spro will be providing pour-over coffee for the event as well. If the weather is nice, our good-vibes-o-meters might register record levels.
Blacksauce Kitchen’s biscuit pop-up shop at Trohv takes place on Sunday, December 16th from 12pm-3p.m. Trohv is located at 921 W. 36th St.
