Now, getting a bunch of young local history nerds (er… buffs) together for a night of classic debauchery may not sound as raucous as some other Saturday night offerings—but if that’s the case, we suspect you missed last year’s Baltimore Bootleggers Bash. The evening was such a hit that they’re bringing it back for 2014—and you don’t want to miss the chance to party Great Gatsby style this year. On Saturday, February 22nd, the Young Defenders (and those who love them)will be rocking the night away in the 1840s Plaza—an even grander venue than last year.
The Young Defenders (if you didn’t know) are local young folks dedicated to “reinvigorating an appreciation of Maryland history through social engagement and historical events.” Thus, this weekend’s wild evening complete with two bars, a full dance floor, and a stunning view of downtown. They’re calling it a Caesar’s Palace for local flappers. Baltimore’s own Full Tilt Brewing will be pouring libations throughout the evening at their very own bar, and there will even be a repeat of last year’s top-notch cocktails from small-batch, craft distilleries. To top it off, True Chesapeake Oysters will be shucking their bounty from the Bay. All of this is included with the ticket price, and there will be plenty of live music to dance to, as well, of course. So practice up on your jitterbug and meet us there.
The second Bootlegger’s Bash takes place February 22nd, starting at 9:00 PM at 29 South Front Street in Baltimore. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/ydmdhs.
