The rain didn’t put a damper on fireworks in the Inner Harbor for the Fourth of July. Following the official cue, your friendly unplanned fireworks-the-neighbor-got-from-Pennsylvania displays also rang out around the city.
Amid the (technically illegal) celebrations, a pair of mishaps were reported. In Baltimore city, a woman seriously injured her hand Sunday night in an incident near the corner of 27th and Greenmount, Fox Baltimore reported. The station reported that the woman lost four fingers in the fireworks incident, and attempts to locate the fingers met with “negative results.”
In Sykesville, the state fire marshal’s office said a man lost a finger when a Roman candle malfunctioned. The man lost his right ring finger from the knuckle up in the incident.
If you must terrify dogs once again and launch some into the comparatively clear skies tonight, remember to protect the digits above all else. If you’d rather let someone else shoot them off, Towson, Dundalk and Catonsville are set to roll with their rain-delayed displays Tuesday night.
