Few images evoke such nostalgia and delight as an old fashioned carousel. It’s the ride that no one needs to be afraid of, and that anyone, of any age can enjoy. And all the better if it’s located in the heart of Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. A visit to the carousel can make for a gorgeous afternoon activity with the kids and an excuse to take in some sun down at the waterfront—whether you’re riding your own painted mare or standing on the sidelines waving at your little ones.
The Charm City Carousel is open most summer days, depending on the weather and on what else happens to be going on in the area. You can always call to see if it’s on, or check their website for updates. But you can also book a private event, should you want the carousel all to yourself sometime. It’s available for private functions and kids’ birthday parties, as long as you book it far enough in advance. Otherwise, you’re welcome to head down to the harbor on any sunny day and take a few spins on the horse of your choice—taking in the wonder of our waterfront all the way.
