Back in July, Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith was told by police to leave the women’s restroom at the Greene Turtle in Towson where he was helping an intoxicated woman. Smith reportedly refused to leave and shot back with “F— you. What the f—are you gonna do?” When officers arrested him for failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order of a law enforcement officer, he said, “The only reason you arrested me is so you could get on the news.”
It seems Smith’s sense of entitlement wasn’t misplaced after all. His lawyer told the Baltimore Sun that the case has been dismissed. “Jimmy is thrilled to put this case behind him,” he said. “It’s a relief for him to have this over with.”
If the Ravens organization would just start issuing badges to players, like I’ve been suggesting, then law enforcement wouldn’t have to waste their time arresting them.
