Currently, the Circulator’s Purple Route ends at Penn Station to the north. Starting Oct. 5, the line will run to 33rd St., which means it will run close to Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Campus. The Purple Route also runs through downtown to Federal Hill, so students will have a new way to get downtown.
The expansion comes after the Circulator nearly lost funding and a separate route that runs through Locust Point to Fort McHenry. But funding was restored at the last minute to save the South Baltimore route. Does the latest extension mean the bus service’s money troubles are behind it?
