Americans have long idealized European style and fashion. Somehow over there, everything seems finer, more glamorous, and yet effortlessly elegant. But when is the last time you found a piece of clothing that looked great on and made you feel comfortable but sophisticated at the same time? Or an item that was well made from quality materials and also happened to be unique enough that you knew no one else might show up wearing the same thing? If it’s been a while, you may be happy to know that Chic Chic Boutique has just opened in the Village of Cross Keys—specializing in European designs that make women look and feel gorgeous. Owners Dario and Rosanna Sech have been working in fashion for years, and with their personal ties to Italy (where they emigrated from) they’re able to hand pick styles that you can’t find anywhere else (at least without taking a Roman holiday).
Chic Chic primarily carries labels from Canada, Italy, and Greece. The looks can work for everyone from younger women to the more mature, and they also carry a large range of sizes from petite to plus. And they can often special order extra large sizes in a matter of a few days. Says owner and buyer Rosanna Sech: “just because a woman is larger doesn’t mean she can’t look sophisticated and chic.” Here’s to that. And being on the go is no excuse, either. The Frank Lyman collection they carry is wrinkle-free and can easily be hand washed rather than needing to be dry-cleaned. So it’s dressy, but super simple to travel with (so long, garment bag).
Sech says she specializes in selecting items that might not immediately leap out to a shopper, but once they put it on, they can see why it’s an amazing piece. “I love to make women feel good about themselves. And if a woman feels good about the way she looks, then it’s good advertising for us,” she says. “And everything we carry is very unique. That’s important. You don’t want to look just like everyone else.“ That’s why they carry hard-to-find labels like Kay Celine and Marisamonti (they’re actually the only store in the US to carry that line). So next time you find yourself looking for something new, different, and top quality— we say think like a European and head to Chic Chic.
