Maybe it’s just because we’re a city on the smaller side, but Baltimoreans absolutely love discussing local politics. It always seems that every other person has read the latest city budget proposal, or has analyzed how this month’s news from Annapolis will affect things in the rest of the state. And of course, we’ve all got something to say about it, too. But that’s what makes a city dynamic, and an informed population is certainly better than an uniformed one, right? Well, this year, on the eve of Tax Day 2015, you can get the scoop on all the latest info for Baltimore taxpayers in one handy (and dare we say, entertaining evening).
On April 14th, from 6pm-8pm, at the War Memorial Building, the city government will host an evening titled, “Your City, Your Budget” where you can ask all the questions you didn’t even know you had. But it’s not your average town hall meeting. There will be informational booths (visit them all and win a prize!), as well as information about projects specific to certain neighborhoods, and projections for the city’s 10-year plan. Tunbridge Public Charter School will even be on hand hosting a bake sale for the occasion. So even if number crunching isn’t exactly your idea of a good time, we assume a couple of brownies will sweeten the deal.
Your City, Your Budget will be held April 14th from 6pm-8pm at the War Memorial Building (101 N. Gay St, in Baltimore). For more information, e-mail [email protected].
