The Creative Alliance’s 2015 Marquee Ball

catch of the day fish (2)The Creative Alliance’s Marquee Ball is always one of the grandest, and most fun events of the season. But this spring’s version may just be the ball to end all balls. But then, that’s the whole idea. The apocalypse is coming, and the Creative Alliance has invited all of your favorite arts survivors for an unforgettable evening of great food, drinks and dancing inside civilization’s last apathy-free zone. It’s a Mad Max themed event complete with all the end-of-the-world fashion, fun, and frivolity you’d expect in a post-civilization era.

Since most of us can agree that the end of the world as we know it is at least a few months away, it’s helpful to know that the Marquee Ball serves as a fundraiser for the Creative Alliance’s free afterschool and neighborhood outreach programs. So while they’re dressing for the ruin of civilization, they’re certainly planning for next school year.  The money raised through ticket sales, the ball’s silent auction, and sponsorships will ensure amazing, free arts programming for Baltimore kids–imminent collapse or no. And that’s just what a world on the brink needs, isn’t it? As the Creative Alliance’s website puts it: “in a world of rust, dust and indifference, join our insurgency to fight for the right to be CREATIVE, no matter what the future brings!” Amen to that.

The Creative Alliance’s 2015 Marquee Ball will be held Saturday, April 18th. For more information, or to purchase tickets, visit
