Local radio station WYPR has announced that Darcy C. Carroll, a portfolio manager at Brown Advisory, has recently been named the chairman of the station’s board of directors. She previously served as secretary of the board.
Before working at Brown Advisory, Carroll was a vice president at Credit Suisse. She began her career in 1995 at Alex. Brown & Sons. Carroll is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She attended Roland Park Country School and sits on the school’s board of directors. An active community leader, Carroll serves on the United Way of Central Maryland’s Women’s Leadership Council. She is also a member of the Roland Park Community Foundation’s investment committee and is an active volunteer for Catholic Charities and Civic Works. Carroll formerly represented Baltimore on the Maryland Commission for Women.
This fall, the station will make changes to its daytime programming. Sheilah Kast, the current Midday host, will create a new program consisting of interviews on current events and topics. It will air following Morning Edition, from 9:30 to 10:00 a.m. Tom Hall, currently the host of Maryland Morning, will move to Midday, which airs weekdays from noon to 1:00 p.m. The changes become effective September 19.
WYPR airs National Public Radio programming and was founded in 2002 by local community members. WYPR is located at 88.1 FM on the radio dial and at 2216 North Charles Street in Baltimore.
