The first Baltimore franchise of Brass Tap promises to be an “upscale” take on the craft beer bar concept.
According to Baltimore Business Journal, the bar will open in The Fitzgerald on Mount Royal Avenue (next to the Lyric Opera House) in Midtown. It plans to offer 60 beers on tap, at least half of which will be local or regional. And if it’s like other locations, it will offer more than 300 craft beers in bottles.
Other Brass Taps have been noted for their “lower-key vibe” (read: you will be able to have a non-shouting conversation) and tasty food menu that nevertheless plays second fiddle to the beer offerings. Franchisee Barry Lowenthal told BBJ that the Baltimore location’s food menu will feature some “Maryland flare.”
Lowenthal is planning to open in October.
