The National Aquarium’s wonderful Fridays After Five program is back, and has been for a while now. That’s when they offer the amazing discount of only $12 admission if you come, well, on Friday after Five. The Aquarium is always a good bet, and a great place to take family and out of town guests. But they’re upping the appeal even more with an event this Friday called Fluid Art that will celebrate Baltimore’s thriving and vibrant art scene.
Fluid Art comes from a partnership with some of the aquarium’s awesome community art partners, such as the Creative Alliance. The event will include an art fashion show of painted clothing and shoes, a dance and story-telling performance featuring local dance troupe Native America’s People, and Maryland-inspired dishes with local beer and wine available for purchase. MICA graduate Kasey Jones will also be on-site to discuss her popular community art project and recycled art tribute to the Aquarium’s green sea turtle, Calypso. Your ticket of course also includes admission to the rest of the aquarium; which is cool because when else do you get to go to an event where you get to view dance, paintings, and the occasional shark?
Fluid Art takes place this Friday, November 7th at the National Aquarium. For more info, visit www.aqua.org.
