Former Legg Mason Chairman to Head Board of Gilman School

Former Legg Mason Chairman & CEO Mark Fetting becomes the head of the Board of Trustees of Gilman School on July 1, 2018.

Fetting is an alumnus of the class of 1972 and the parent of graduates in the classes of 2000 and 2005. He rejoins the board to become president, having served terms as a trustee from 1997-2009. He will succeed Scott Wieler, chairman of Signal Hill.

Fetting is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Business School. He was the CEO of Legg Mason from 2008 until 2012.  He sits on the board of the Baltimore Community Foundation and runs Camp Brightside, an outdoor camp for urban youth, with his wife, Georgia Smith.

In addition to Fetting, the Board of Trustees will welcome seven new members and bid farewell to two on July 1, 2018.
