Firefighters gathered at McDonald’s in Riverside on Sunday to put out a fire at the fast food spot.
According to Harford County fire officials, the building was evacuated after the blaze started around 5:15 p.m. Firefighters found “heavy fire” when they arrived, but it was contained to the kitchen area. No injuries were reported in the incident. In all, the fire took about 10 minutes to put out.
According to the state fire marshal, investigators believe the cause was the fryer, which had a malfunctioning operating system. The amount of damage is estimated at about $30,000.
