Usually hosted on Goucher’s campus, this January’s residency for students in the M.F.A. in Nonfiction Program will be held in New York City for the first time in the program’s history. The New York City location will allow expanded offerings to students as well as exposure to a broader network of industry leaders.
Goucher College’s M.F.A. in Nonfiction program has been producing successful graduates for more than 20 years. The program’s students and alumni have published more than 120 books and won such honors as the PEN/Fusion Prize, finalists for the Pulitzer prize, and many more. Designed for the developing writer, the program offers a personalized approach, including mentors from across the industry, helping students develop the skills they need to succeed no matter what subject ignites their passion.
The limited-residency format of the program not only enables students to work and learn from anywhere, but also enables Goucher to recruit faculty members from around the country who have excelled both as writers and teachers of nonfiction.
