Nothing makes Halloween more Halloween-y than a hearty dose of real, live (or, undead, rather) zombies. And some actual woods during actual nighttime definitely up the fear factor there. This year marks the second annual Zombie Horde Scavenger Hunt being held at Robert E. Lee Park. This year, it’s back by popular demand (at least from those who survived last year). It’s a chance to run and hide from brain-eating ghouls, all while trying to collect items along the trail, and outlasting your fellow hunters. It’s not for the faint of heart, but then, what zombie-oriented activity is?Whether or not you get your brains devoured by zombies, you’re definitely guaranteed candy at the scavenger hunt. So if things don’t quite go your way, at least there’s a silver lining. But if you’re stealthy and light-footed, you can win prizes (besides escaping with your life) as one of the quickest survivors of the hunt. It’s a bring-your-own-flashlight affair (and you’ll need one), and fast shoes are recommended. Zombie hunts are a hot ticket (naturally) so RSVPs are required. So go ahead, sign up to meet your doom. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
The Zombie Horde Scavenger Hunt takes place in Robert E. Lee Park, Friday, October 24th from 7pm-9pm. For more information, or to make reservations, visit www.relpnc.org.
