FashionEASTA Brings Super Chic to the Harbor

catch of the day fish (2)We all know that Harbor East is every fashion lover’s go-to spot for finding the newest, chicest trends. That’s why for three years now it’s been home to FashionEASTa—Baltimore’s ultimate style fête.  That means a full day of in-store specials at some of Baltimore’s hottest shops. The specials go hand in hand with the centerpiece of the event: The FashionEASTa Fashion Show. It’s a high energy runway show featuring local celebrity models — like Baltimore Ravens’ cornerback Lardarius Webb, who will model looks from Under Armour Brand House — and spring’s newest looks. But unlike those fashion shows that leave you thinking, “well sure, but who’s going to actually wear that?” the looks showcased at FashionEASTA all come straight out of Harbor East shops. So they’re not only super fabulous, but you can run right out and purchase them for yourself that very day—which we should mention is Saturday, April 26th. Save it.  Harbor East - FashionEASTaThe FashionEASTa festivities kick off at 1PM on the 26th on Aliceanna Street (between S. Exeter and S. President). It wouldn’t be a party without great live music and cocktails, and it wouldn’t be Harbor East without amazing cuisine from some of the neighborhood’s top restaurants. The sales, promotions, and other in-store events run throughout the day, with the big runway show kicking off at 3:30pm. So far, a few of the retailers who we know will be participating are Amaryllis Handcrafted Jewelry, City Sports, Handbags in the City, J.Crew, Loafers & Laces, lululemon athletica, The MAC (Maryland Athletic Club), MAC Cosmetics, Sassanova, South Moon Under, Under Armour Brand House, Urban Chic and White House/Black Market. Needless to say, with a list like that (and of course, it’s growing) there’s something for every style type—whether you’re looking for something for the garden party, or to spruce up your workout look. Folks who live and work in Harbor East say that once you’re there, you never want to leave. We can believe it, since the neighborhood truly has it all—including those amazing waterfront views and walkways. That is to say, once you’ve seen the looks on the catwalk and shopped ‘til you dropped, you may want to round out the evening with a stroll by the water, or taking in a film at the neighborhood’s seven-screen art house theater. Or you may just want to run home and try everything on again in the mirror and have a private fashion show of your own. Your call.
