The Baltimore Sun Online Auction for Center Stage is gearing up as every day new and exciting items are added to the list. Now exclusively online through, a platform dedicated to hosting nonprofit online auctions, the auction gives people in Baltimore and beyond the opportunity to bid on hundreds of unique items while supporting world-class theater. Items can be previewed now, and bidding will be live from February 15 through Sunday, February 23.

One of the theater’s largest and most successful fundraising events, the annual auction is in its 37th year and has raised close to $5 million for Center Stage’s artistic, education, and community programming. Last year BiddingForGood highlighted the Center Stage Auction as one of the most exciting in the nation through their “Auctions That Rocked” list.

Numerous generous vendors from Baltimore and around the country have donated items large and small—many returning year after year. John Waters, who this year is offering a personalized recording for the winning bidder’s voicemail, has supported Center Stage for years.

“I always support this auction by donating items because smart people bid on them,” says Waters.  “We need Center Stage to survive so all the nutcase overly-theatrical types in Baltimore don’t leave town.”

“I have been involved with the Center Stage auction for close to a quarter of a century,” says Bettie Clark of Personalized Weight Loss. “We are so fortunate in the Baltimore area to have such a variety of artistic talent—which is constantly reflected in our State Theater.” Personalized Weight Loss is among many health and lifestyle packages being offered.

High-end jewelry and fashion is always popular, and Smyth Jewelers is among the frequent donors. “We have long supported the auction because we fully believe in the arts in Baltimore, especially the fine theater produced at Center Stage. Participation has always been good for our business, too,” says Ruthann Carroll.

Among the hundreds of items are:

  • ·         Mediterranean and Caribbean cruises
  • ·         Ravens and Orioles tickets
  • ·         Wine events from Iron Bridge Wine Company and other local wineries
  • ·         Tropical stays in St. Lucia, Panama, Antigua, and Barbados from Elite Island Resorts
  • ·         Stays in Moab and Snowbird, Utah, and Bonaventure, Florida
  • ·         A weekend and spa package from the Ritz Carlton
  • ·         Roundtrip tickets from Condor Airlines, Jet Blue Airways, and Amtrak
  • ·         And much more!

Item donations are still being accepted! For information on donating an item and donor benefits, please contact Auction Coordinator Sydney Wilner at [email protected]
