All told, approximately $1,000 worth of toys were reported stolen from a Toys for Tots facility in Edgewood over the weekend. That includes more than 40 collectible Hess trucks and a three-foot-tall Darth Vader figure.
The scene lacked any sign of forced entry, the Baltimore Sun reported. Plus, it seems that particularly valuable toys were targeted, giving the impression that this unknown, real-life Grinch may have had a key to the facility and a knowledge of its contents. Toys for Tots coordinator Gene Wlock finds that hard to believe. “I know all these people. I work with them for six, seven years already. They would never do anything like that,” Wlock told WBAL.
Toys for Tots has replaced the toys that were stolen to ensure that no children go without, but if you have information regarding Darth Vader and his fleet of Hess trucks, you are asked to contact Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
