The Women’s Board of the Johns Hopkins Hospital holds that Baltimore institution, the Best Dressed Sale and Boutique October 5-7 at the Carriage House at Evergreen House. The event (in its 45th year!) sells new and gently used men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. It’s the ultimate recycling program!
The range of clothes appeals to everyone from college students looking to build and interview wardrobe, to fashionistas seeking a fun vintage find, to young moms and dads in need of classic black-tie on a budget (tuxedos and mink have been found in the mix in past years) and everyone in-between. Clothes are never carried over from year to year. What doesn’t sell is donated to the Carry-On Shop or is donated to places like the theater department of Towson University.
The Women’s Board began its good works in 1927. Since its inception it has donated over $14 million to benefit patient care at Hopkins and fund medical and nursing school scholarships.
The Best Dressed Sale will be held Friday, October 5 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., Saturday, October 6 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and Sunday, October 7 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Evergreen House and Library’s Carriage House, 4545 N. Charles Street. The event is free and open to the public.
