If you see a giant potato trucking on Maryland highways this weekend, try not to get too distracted. It’ll be pulling over at a rest area on Saturday for full inspection.
The Big Idaho Potato Truck is set to roll through the state. From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, it will be parked at the Maryland House rest near Aberdeen. Of course, there is an online tracker where you can monitor the truck’s progress.
The six-ton spud is a way to draw attention to Idaho’s continuing potato prowess. Formally, it’s project of the Idaho Potato Commission. Along the way, it also teams up with local charities. This weekend’s cause is a Truckin’ 4 Troops event, also held in Aberdeen.
