The Monument Lighting marks the big party to kick off the holiday season in the middle of the city. Now that the fireworks have gone off, it’s time for the neighborhoods to celebrate.
On Tuesday, Canton’s O’Donnell Square plays host to the annual Lamp Post Lighting ceremony. It’s the ninth edition of the event, which is family friendly and features a visit from Santa and caroling from Cara Kelly and the Tell Tale. Attendees also get to weigh in on which lamp posts and storefronts look the best.
Plus, there’s drinks. Along with free hot chocolate and coffee, there will be champagne, Irish coffee, hot cider and egg nog.
