Baltimore as cold as possible

If things hold steady for these last couple weeks of December, Baltimore will record its coldest year since either 2003 or even 1996.

It’s particularly impressive when you consider that 2014 is the earth’s warmest year since we started keeping track. Baltimore has been 2 degrees colder than normal at the same time that the globe has been 1.22 degrees warmer than the 20th-century average.

According to the Baltimore Sun, the first 11 months of the year were the eighth coldest in Baltimore since we started keeping track in 1871. December has actually been 2 degrees warmer than average, but that should correct itself.
