UPDATE: Laura Dowling was released as White House Floral Designer on Feb, 13, 2015.
After 25 years of Art Blooms, an event that featured flower arrangements inspired by artwork, The Women’s Committee of the Walters Art Museum has decided to change its spring event. Going forward, the committee will present floral designers from different parts of the world. The headliner for the first of the new spring lectures is White House Floral Designer Laura Dowling.
On Friday, April 17, she will present a lecture and demonstration entitled, New Inspirations in the Garden Style. A French-inspired luncheon on the museum’s Sculpture Court will follow the talk. Dress? Parisian chic, naturellement! Floral arrangements made during the demonstration will be raffled at the end of the lecture.
