Building anticipation for Under Armour’s new ad featuring Michael Phelps isn’t a challenge in Baltimore, given that it brings two of the city’s athletic icons together under the banner of the apparel giant’s “Rule Yourself” campaign. But just in case, UA dropped a quick Twitter teaser on Monday that shows Kevin Plank and Michael Phelps in the same room.
The ad featuring Phelps is set to appear for the first time on Tuesday. Under Armour released video of Phelps and his fiancee, Nicole Johnson, watching the ad with Plank.
From the reaction, it look likes the ad is set to be a reminder that star power is only part of the equation for a company that gave us Protect This House and Misty Copeland’s “I Will.” It’s the emotion that makes it relate.

While the video doesn’t show the ad, Phelps talks about a new outlook. He also hints that the campaign shows the “real Michael Phelps.”
“That commercial shows a lot of amazing things about me that probably the world has never seen,” Phelps says.
