Notre Dame Preparatory School has received four recognitions in the Baltimore Style 2021 Readers’ Choice Awards:
- Mrs. Christian Leitch (Art) was named Best Middle School Teacher
- Mr. Tom Peri (Science) was named Best High School Teacher
- Notre Dame Preparatory School earned Best Girls Private Elementary/Middle School
- Notre Dame Preparatory School earned Best Girls Private High School

This is the second year in a row that NDP has won Style Readers’ Choice awards for best girls private middle school and best girls private high school; this is also the second consecutive “Best High School Teacher” honor for Mr. Peri, who has taught biology at Notre Dame for 18 years. A first-time awardee in the program, Mrs. Leitch has been with the school for 21 years.
“These recognitions are especially meaningful as each vote demonstrates a show of support for the individuals who make NDP’s mission of transformative education come alive for each and every student,” says Sister Patricia McCarron, SSND, Ph.D., headmistress.
Founded in 1873, Notre Dame Preparatory School is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school for 800 girls in grades 6-12. The School Sisters of Notre Dame sponsor and operate the school, which is dedicated to educating girls to become young women who will transform the world.
