Maryland has seen an unusual amount of small aircraft crashing over the last several days.
Most recently, a small plane crashed near the Bay Bridge airport on Kent Island. A man and woman died in the Tuesday afternoon incident, according to WTOP. The plane was rented from Delaware, and “exploded into flames” when it crashed into the ground.
On Sunday, a helicopter went down on train tracks near BWI, according to Reuters. That incident also ended up fiery, as a brush fire ignited nearby. Three people onboard the chopper were reported injured, but all survived. The helicopter’s crew was inspecting power lines for BGE, and was flying low at the time of the crash.
