Salsa Night

catch of the day fish (2)Candy, chocolates, various kinds of paper hearts. The usual Valentine’s Day tropes may be perfectly sweet in their attempts at romance, but don’t you want a little spice in there, too? Well, nothing heats things up quite as quickly as a little Latin dance. Salsa is famously sexy—with riveting beats and moves that will get your blood pumping. And thanks to some dedicated local Salsa lovers, you too can enjoy all that the form has to offer by attending the fun (but totally educational) lessons this weekend—followed directly by an all night party.

There’s a Salsa party every first and third Friday, but this one is Pre-Valentine’s Day themed—so you can get a jump on chanelling your inner Don Juan. The beginner lesson goes from 9-9:30pm. Then there’s Salsa Shines & Footwork from 9:30-10pm. But from 10pm on, it’s pure party. Nonstop dancing, along with games, contests, raffles, and (did we mention?) dancing. For a bit of variety, the DJs will be spinning Salsa as well as Bachata and Merengue. Wear what you like (as long as you can move in it) and BYOB; and put a little sex appeal into your pre-Valentine’s Day game.

The Pre-Valentine’s Day Salsa night takes place Friday, Feb 7th, beginning at 9pm. It will be held at Dance & Artistic Expressions Studio, at 6530 Frederick Rd in Catonsville. $10 includes lessons, food, and the late night party. For more info, visit
