A rabbi pleaded guilty to child sex abuse charges filed earlier this year in Baltimore County.
According to court records, Frederick Karp pleaded guilty to sexual abuse of a minor. Karp, 51, lived in Ohio and was extradited to Maryland after his arrest in New York City earlier this year. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison.
The Cleveland Jewish News reports there were three victims in the case, all of whom lived in Baltimore County when they were abused. The abuse took place both in Baltimore County and at Karp’s home near Cleveland.
Karp was director of spiritual living at Menorah Park Center for Senior Living in Beachwood, Ohio. He iwas also president of Neshama: Association of Jewish Chaplains, formerly known as the National Association of Jewish Chaplains.
