Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake is going to give a small-business-minded State of the City speech today, the Baltimore Sun reports.
After Maryland and Baltimore offered $43 million in tax credits to Amazon two years ago to get the retail giant to build a warehouse here, Rawlings-Blake is ready to focus some attention on small businesses and local entrepreneurship.
The State of the City address will coincide with the release of a strategic plan that includes doubling the budget of the Small Business Resource Center and initiating a $1 million “innovation fund” that would be used by small businesses to keep up with technological advancements.
