School is out on Tuesday, November 4th (because we’re all heading to the polls that day to vote, yes?). But the kids certainly won’t be voting, though they do generally like to be kept busy. So why not spend the rest of the day out and about, soaking up some of the final days of this gorgeous fall (sorry, but it does have to end sometime). The Cylburn Arboretum will be open for the day, with plenty of activities ranging from the artistic to the adventurous. The Arboretum invites you to spend Election Day outside on their wonderful network of trails, and exploring nature in autumn! The day will be spent working on art projects, playing games, hiking, and even working with the arboretum’s Artist in Residence on landscape paintings. Participants are asked to bring their own lunch, but snacks will be provided. It’s a great way to cram some weekend fun into the middle of the week– and to get some fresh air on the occasional day off.
The Cylburn Arboretum is located at 4915 Greenspring Avenue in Baltimore. Their Election Day event costs $40 for members, $45 for non-members. For details and more information about their Election Day activities, visit www.cylburn.org.
