Oakland garage band Shannon and the Clams, New York rock group Dirty Fences and locals Smoke Bellow and Romantic States are among the first batch of bands announced for this year’s U+N Fest.

Now in its seventh year, the annual festival put on by the local booker Unregistered Nurse highlights “every possible expression of punk” from local and national bands alike. Unregistered Nurse has a pretty solid track record of bringing  in national groups that soon hit it big, like Priests, Downtown Boys and Sheer Mag, just to name a few.

Rounding out the first group of bands announced are Soul Glo, Material Girls, Des Demonas, Homosuperior, Bacchae, Dehd and Peel Dream Magazine. And more will be announced.

Tickets for the festival, scheduled for from Nov. 9-11 at Ottobar, are on sale now.
