Every kid dreams of building (and eating)the perfect gingerbread house. Piping for shingles, candycane window sills, gum drop shrubbery, cotton candy smoke coming from the chimney. But if you’ve ever embarked on a DIY gingerbread house adventure with your kid, you’ve probably ended up with enough icing in your hair, M&Ms all over the floor, and buckling roof tiles that you were ready to hire a contractor. This year, why not bring your child to Sotto Sopra Restaurant for Pastry Chef Mallory Staley’s gingerbread decorating classes being held Sundays, December 8th and December 22nd.
Each class runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All that children need to bring is a smile and an adult chaperone. They’ll come away with an impressive gingerbread house that they decorated themselves, that may well end up as the centerpiece on your family’s dining room table. The class costs $60 which includes one child and their adult chaperone, the class, the gingerbread house to take home, and light refreshments. Now if only they offered one for adults, too.
Classes will be held Sunday December 8th and Sunday, December 22 at Sotto Sopra restaurant (405 N. Charles St). For more information on the gingerbread house decorating class, e-mail chef Mallory Staley at [email protected].
