If you’ve already planned your hangover for New Years Day, maybe this one’s not for you. But if you’re hoping to make 2014 a healthier year—or to at least start it off that way, the Resolution Run may be just what the doctor ordered. Whether you’re ready to dive in for the full 5K run, or would rather take it slow with the one mile walk, you can mark the year’s beginning with a promise to take good care of your body these next 12 months.
When you join your fellow Baltimoreans in this particular race, you know it’s not just about who makes the best time. Sure, there will be awards for the top finishers (by sex and age group), but there will also be a slew of random prizes given out at the post-race celebration. That’s because anyone who decides to forgo the black-eyed peas in favor of electrolytes and a few miles of exertion on a winter’s day deserves a prize. But of course, you won’t have to go without a delicious New Years brunch: chili and cornbread will be served post-race, so you can have your health and party, too.
The Resolution Run takes place New Years Day in Patterson Park. For more information, visit www.charmcityrun.com.
