There wasn’t a tornado or hurricane in Baltimore this weekend, but the whipping wind made it feel a little too close to the eye.
The winds gusted up to 40 mph in some spots in the area on Saturday and Sunday. In West Baltimore, vacant homes toppled in the wind. According to Fox Baltimore, housing officials said seven homes collapsed. No one was injured. Some of the buildings are now slated for demolition.
Someone even lost an eye. At the center of Light City in the harbor, Mr. Trash Wheel lost one of his newly installed eyes. Adam Lindquist of the Healthy Harbor Initiative posted video of the incident as it happened:
