Fall is full of big fashion events. This season we’ve already seen Fashion’s Night Out and New York Fashion Week. While those are both events that the clothing-conscious might wait for all year, neither can boast raising over $40,000 for local educational institutions, or showcasing the many talents of our city’s youth. So what event does accomplish such wonders? The Art of Giving– a fashion show this Friday featuring Ruth Shaw’s latest fall fashion and benefiting Baltimore School for the Arts (BSA) and the Kennedy Krieger Institute.
Prior to the show, guests can enjoy musical entertainment by BSA musicians while enjoying the collections in the Radcliffe Jewelers and Renaissance showrooms. Guests will also enjoy a light lunch donated by The Classic Catering People. Attendees will receive special “goody bags” and can also purchase raffle tickets for a MICHELE watch from the Urban Mini collection or an original, custom-framed watercolor by Karen Dupre from the “Belle Chaussures” series.
The event is now in its third year, proving its success as a fundraiser, fashion event, and boost for the community. As the fashion show’s coordinator puts is, “The Art of Giving initiative incorporates the entire community, and you’re only as good as your community.” When you put it that way, it certainly makes us feel proud to be Baltimoreans.
The Art of Giving Fashion Show takes place Friday, September 21 from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at Renaissance Fine Arts, 1848 Reisterstown Road, Baltimore, MD. Tickets are priced at $150 per person ($125 tax deductible). For more information call 443-923-7300 or visit www.kennedykrieger.org/artofgiving.
