Damascus, Sherwood, and Walter Johnson High Schools, all in Montgomery County have gone monochromatic at graduation this year for the sake of transgender students.

Five other Montgomery County high schools which formerly provided one color for female graduates and another for males, have announced that they will be switching to one color next year.

According to the Associated Press, the principals that letters from students are partly to credit for the change, coming as Americans in general are becoming more conscious of transgender issues.
