Once upon an evening eerie…
Join Edgar Allan Poe and Reisterstown founder John Reister on Saturday, October 10 from 7 p.m.-10 p.m. at the Reisterstown Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library for A Toast Among Ghosts, a spooky night of live music, food and beer in a historic cemetery.
The Reisterstown Branch was formerly the Franklin Academy (c. 1824), where local folklore holds that Edgar Allan Poe once applied to be the headmaster. He wasn’t selected, but maybe it’s time Poe returned to one of his old haunts. There will be live music provided by local band Snakes, food and beer vendors and Poe and Reister impersonators, as well as guided tours through the historic Reisterstown Community Cemetery (est. 1764). Baltimore-favorite David Keltz will interact with attendees as Poe throughout the evening.
Advance tickets are $15 per person which includes the cemetery tour, and are $20 at the door. This is a 21+ event. Proceeds benefit the Foundation for BCPL’s childhood literacy efforts.
Parking: Free parking at the Reisterstown United Methodist Church, 246 Main Street in Reisterstown.
