Trivia Questions and Seviche at Talara

catch of the day fish (2)We all know that person who gets a few drinks in them and suddenly becomes a Civil War buff—spouting statistics and fun-filled anecdotes from their readings about Antietam and Vicksburg. Or maybe you have an uncle who has a few too many eggnogs at Christmas and suddenly the Trivial Pursuit board is out and the whole family is gathered around it. The point is trivia questions and alcohol go together well. On the one hand, a cocktail can loosen you up enough to tap wrinkles in your brain you didn’t even know you had. On the other hand, if you get an embarrassingly easy question wrong, just blame it on the demon rum. You can’t lose! And while plenty of bars in town offer a weekly or monthly trivia night, few offer the killer drinks and eats that Talara does.

As the weather heats up, Talara is more and more the place you want to be. The Nuevo Latino restaurant offers fresh, healthy tapas and some of the tastiest cocktails around. They’ve been rated Baltimore’s Best Happy Hour, and with good reason. Their cocktail menu offers an extensive selection—featuring everything from South American classics to exotic island favorites. Try two of the house favorites: the Caipirnha and the Pisco Sour. Plus, if you go out on a Wednesday (you know, like tonight), stop in at 7pm for their Seviche Night deal. Buy a Triple Seviche and get a complimentary single Seviche of your choice. Have a couple drinks, and then stick around until 8pm when the trivia starts up. And remember: if you get it wrong, it’s the margarita’s fault.

Talara is located at 615 President Street in Baltimore. For more information, visit
