Giving Tuesday might be over, but there are still plenty of ways you can give back during the holiday season. During two upcoming events, not only can you do good for local organizations, you can also pick up a few gifts (or something for yourself).
On Saturday, December 3, House of Ruth Maryland will host its 12th annual B-More Bags trunk show and sale. The sale, which takes place at Ruth’s Closet in Owings Mills, will feature infinity scarves, plus stuff bags, card cases, bottle bags and tote bags designed and sewn by House of Ruth volunteers.
The bags range in price from $12 to $125 and all profits benefit House of Ruth Maryland, an organization dedicated to ending violence against women and children.
Next week, on Thursday, December 8, The Women’s Board of the Johns Hopkins Hospital will host an event at Talbots in the Village of Cross Keys. From 12 p.m. to 3 p.m., join Women’s Board members for shopping and light refreshments; during that time, 10% of pre-tax sales will be donated to the JHH Women’s Board.
The Women’s Board is an 89-year old nonprofit, volunteer-run organization that raises and allocates funds to scholarships, research and programs at The Johns Hopkins Hospital.
The B-More Bags trunk show and sale takes place from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, at Ruth’s Closet in Valley Village Shopping Center (9131 Reisterstown Road, Owings Mills). For more information, visit www.hruth.org.
The Women’s Board of the Johns Hopkins Hospital shopping event at Talbots takes place from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 8 at Talbots in The Village of Cross Keys (50 Village Square, Baltimore). To RSVP, please contact Cindy Heller at 410-323-5940. For more information about the Women’s Board, visit www.womensboard.jhmi.edu.
