Baltimore's Restaurant Scene

catch of the day fish (2)Few spots in Baltimore are as effortlessly romantic as Fells Point. And few restaurants as well-regarded as Waterfront Kitchen, where chef Jerry Pellegrino prepares exquisite “seed-to-plate” fare that’s seasonally focused and as locally sourced as possible. With stunning views and great atmosphere, it’s a perfect spot for your Valentine’s Day dinner reservations (which you might want to make just about…now). The special Valentine’s Day menu features a prix fixe menu for two– with optional wine pairings. It’s elegantly presented fare that sticks to classic flavors and dishes that will warm you to the core. But that’s not the only reason it’s a great pick.

Waterfront Kitchen isn’t just a restaurant striving to serve some of the freshest, finest food around (though they do that quite well). Its partnership with Living Classrooms Foundation manifests the restaurant’s other mission of service to the Baltimore community. Waterfront Kitchen works with the Foundation’s BUGS (Baltimore Urban Gardening with Students) program, which teaches  grade school kids in the city about gardening, good nutrition, applied academics and more. A percentage of the restaurant’s profits support the program and kids even get to work the chefs to grow produce for the restaurant in gardens and a greenhouse just down the street. That means it’s a Valentine’s Day spot you feel extra good about supporting– and your date likely will too.

Waterfront Kitchen is located at 1417 Thames Street in Baltimore. To make reservations, or for more information, visit
