Welcome to the Snow Hole, Baltimore

After last year’s blizzard and this year’s storm to the north, Baltimore hasn’t had much snow this winter. Literally less than an inch, it turns out.

The Capital Weather Gang reports that the city has recorded a mere .7 inches of snow. That’s 50 percent less than DC’s 1.4 inches. Even Richmond has 7.1 inches. Not that we’re complaining.

More importantly, however, there’s a name for this phenomenon. It’s the “Snow Hole,” says the Weather Gang’s Jason Samenow.

Of course, we’ll probably get some snow now since we’re all talking about it. Apologies in advance.

Or, it’s an opportunity. On the very same day as the Snow Hole was named, the Baltimore Business Journal reported that the city may be in line to get a new Caribbean-style blue lagoon. The seven-acre site would have a “sandy beach, a curving shoreline of tropical blue waters, palm trees and kayaks.” Florida “developer of lagoons” Crystal Lagoons is bringing such an experience to Las Vegas, so apparently, it’s a thing.

Baltimore already has the waterfront condos. Let’s just hope it has megayacht parking.
