We here at Catch of the Day are so ahead of the curve that we’re not talking or thinking about our weekend plans today. Sure, TGIF and everything, but we’re already looking forward to (and making our reservations for) next Wednesday. Some might call this the opposite of being present in the moment, but we call it being prepared. And isn’t that something that the Boy Scouts (pretty good role models, we’d say) are always advocating? Plus, we’ve got good cause to look forward: Wednesday, May 1st will be Whiskey Wednesday at Johnny’s.
Every other Wednesday, Johnny’s is hosting Whiskey Wednesdays. Whiskey Wednesday features a flight of 4, half-ounce pours on a tasting menu with descriptions of each. The tasting includes two snacks as an accompaniment. Each event has a different theme, and for this coming Wednesday, it’s Unique Cask Finishes. Each is aged in a distinct way using former Chardonnay casks, Port Casks and Small barrels. This should make for a delicious comparison between Filibuster Dual Cask Rye, Angels Envy Port Finish, Hudson Whiskey “Baby Bourbon,” and Black Maple Hill Bourbon. The event takes place at 8:30 pm, and reservations are recommended. As they say, “Be prepared.”
Johnny’s is located at 4800 Roland Avenue in Baltimore. For more information, visit www.johnnysdownstairs.com.
