Between the White Marsh Mall and The Avenue at White Marsh, the North Baltimore neighborhood already has plenty of shopping options. But if one developer has his way, White Marsh will have even more retail–and not everyone is happy about that.According to the Baltimore Sun, Baltimore developer R. Kelvin Antill has his eye on a plot of land a couple miles north of the mall, where he hopes to build an upscale outlet complex with 125 stores, a 130-room hotel, 250 apartments, and 250,000 square feet of office space. Some White Marsh residents are opposed to the proposed mall, worrying that even more development will pollute their neighborhood and exacerbate already-awful traffic issues.
If all goes according to plan (and, let’s face it, it probably will), the outlets will probably open in late 2016. Shoppers, mark your calendars.
