So, yesterday we brought back the old, “let’s make it Earth Day everyday.” And today really is Earth Day (happy Earth Day!). But now that we know that the good folks at the Y of Central Maryland are gearing up for Healthy Kids Day, we kind of have to ask: shouldn’t we make it Healthy Kids Day, everyday? Hmm… probably. But April 26th is a good place to start. And with a free festival that’s fun for kids and their families, we’re thinking it will probably be pretty easy to get into.
This Saturday, April 26th, has been declared Healthy Kids Day, 2014. So you can bring the whole family down to your neighborhood Y for a day of fun-filled activities that promote healthy living and activity. The event will include family fitness activities, healthy treats, face painting, a moon bounce and more. And nothing encourages one to step up their cardio-fitness level more than a few minutes in a moon bounce, we’ve found. The whole event is free and open to all community members. Specific times and activities vary based on the Y’s different location, so be sure to check in with the Y closest to you for details. But until then, remember that it’s Earth Day today, and Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, but maybe it could kind of also be both most of the rest of the time, too.
